Chicken Dinner

Which one would you choose? Can you believe that 8 short weeks ago, these white chickens were the same size as the yellow chicks?

These yellow Buff Orpington pullets will take 20 weeks to reach maturity and start laying their first eggs. Meanwhile, I could raise two and a half batches of the white Cornish Cross from chick to freezer. Isn't there something wrong about that? No other breed of chicken will go from chick to freezer in such a short amount of time. These birds have been bred to get fat and grow large in the shortest amount of time. This is what you're eating when you pick up chicken at the grocery store. I just grow my own at home.

This is also "Fast Food". Not the Kentucky Fried Chicken kind, but the homegrown kind.
