Ouch?

I collect eggs everyday from the coop.

Sometimes there is a
surprise waiting for me. Most days I get beautiful, fresh, brown eggs from my happy, free ranging hens.

But.....one of them doesn't lay everyday.

I've often thought of dabbing their heads with some paint or some kind of marker when I see them setting in the nest boxes. Then, after a few days, one of them would end up without a mark. I could cull that hen because she's not keeping up with production.

I think she knows what I'm thinking. Look at what she left me this morning. Ouch!

The white egg is a Grade A Large from the grocery store, the brown eggs are from my girls.

I should just keep her shouldn't I?
